 | 10th Jun 2006 | Romney Marsh
Welcome to the Romney Marsh and my website Romney Marsh Gifts. I am trying to build up an online photgraphic record of life on the Marsh and collections are constantly being updated.
Local links to various shops, attractions and other relevant sites will be shown, particularly where I find that the service is consistently of a high standard, ie "Bournes" the Butchers in New Romney, "The Pilot" at Dungeness etc.
Please feel free to enjoy my galleries and if you fancy a souvenir of your visit to "The Marsh" please visit the "Gift Shop" collection.

 | 12th May 2006 | Stodmarsh National Nature reserve
Stodmarsh National Nature reserve is located alongside the River Stour between Thanet and Canterbury. Adjacent to one of the main entrances by the Grove Ferry Inn, a steamboat provides trips along the Stour.
The Nature reserve is a very important wetland area, that is easily accesible and has the added bonus of Wild Horses of Polish origin.

 | 23rd Aug 2005 | Oare Marshes Nature reserve
Oare Marshes Nature reserve is located near Faversham at the point where The Swale and the Faversham and Oare Creeks converge.
A wide variety of wildlife can be seen here and in addition to the thousands of birds, migrating and resident, many other species can be observed. On a recent vsit Marsh Frogs were much in evidence along with sun bathing grass snakes and seals swimming in the Swale.
Along the Swale can be seen the new bridge linking the Isle of Sheppey with the mainland being constructed.

 | 19th Jun 2005 | Lille - less than an hour from Ashford
The city of Lille is less than an hour from Ashford by Eurostar or just over an hour from Calais by car or Train. Smart shops, many antique and speciality shops, wide boulevards and fine architecture is well worth a visit.

 | 21st May 2004 | Rare Breeds Centre, Woodchurch
The rare breeds centre at Woodchurch, near Ham Street has an excellent collection of rare breeds of farm animals. Ideal for adults and children alike, I would thoroughly recommend a visit. An added bonus is that unlike a nearby animal centre, admission prices here are reasonable, £5.50 per adult on my visit in May 2004. For added interest "The Daily Mail Tamworth Two" pigs are on display as well.
